NY Upgrades whistleblower law
NY's Whistleblower statute used to be very weak (it did not consider most kinds of employee complaints to be legally-protected). This year, the statute was amended and covers a wide variety of employee complaints -- about safety, environmental harm, financial wrong-doing, etc. This is article does a good job of explaining the breadth of the amended statute (about halfway through the text):
